Library Loot
I havne't been adding books to my request at the library for the last couple of weeks as I need to get the number of books that I have down again, mainly because they won't let me take out too many more books. Having said all that, I still managed to borrow 4 books this week, and I have three waiting there to be picked up, but I will be taking back more than I borrow next time I go which has to be a good thing right?The books I borrowed in the last week were:
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton - I read House at Riverton last year and quite enjoyed it, so I am looking forward to this one.
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare - I think there is a movie or something coming out soon so I thought I would give this a go.
Betrayed: A House of Night Novel by P C Cast and Kristin Cast - I read the first book a few weeks ago, so this is next in the series.
Shields of Pride by Elizabeth Chadwick - My quest to work my way through Elizabeth Chadwick's backlist in a slow and leisurely way continues. The only reason why I want to do that slowly and leisurely is that I don't really want to get to the point where I don't have any left to read. It's such a dilemna.

I've been wanting to read The House of Riverton but never get the chance to get to it. I'm gonna have to check it out from the library again :)
I loved The Forgotten Garden - it really was an excellent yarn, stretching out over years. Normally I like a fairly finite time for a book, but this flipped back and forth between the present and the past, and each time another 'onion layer' was peeled back so you could put the puzzle together more... Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

My library holds are out of control as well. I liked Shields of Pride but it one of her older and weaker novels (unless you got the new edition which I haven't seen).
I think I'm the only one who went gung ho and gobbled up all of Chadwick's books as soon as I could. They still read well the second time around, and usually after reading the latest one only a Chadwick will do.

These all look like fun! I really need to try out some Chadwick: where do you recommend I start?
Hi Marg:) I'm like you with Elizabeth Chad. There's just too much to read- and I want to read it all. And-I too love reading Michelle Moran's work (I'm finishing up Nefertiti- it's soo good).
Eva, I would recommend starting with The Greatest Knight, The Scarlet Lion and then A Place Beyond Courage. By that time you will hopefully be completely hooked and you will want to work your way through her entire backlist!
Lucy, Elizabeth Chadwick is definitely an author to be savoured in my opinion.
Misfit, I don't generally do rereads which is part of the reason why I am taking my time with EC's books!

I think I just recently realized just how many books I own that I haven't read so I'm cutting WAY back on my library loot. I've only picked up two this week.
