Anyone know a locksmith?
I am freaking out a little at the moment. I think someone has managed to get hold of the key to my sliding doors that lead to my deck and has been trying to get in while I have been at work.
Last night when I got home from work I noticed that both the sliding glass door and sliding security doors were open. We had had one of the doors open on Sunday afternoon but I was sure that it was all shut up before I went to bed on Sunday night. I looked around the house and it doesn't look like anything had been touched so then I thought maybe we really hadn't shut it. Only problem is the keys that were in the sliding security door were missing, but I couldn't remember if I had taken them out a while ago and just not put them back. So last night before I went to bed, I locked both doors from the inside (don't need the keys to do that), put the barbecue against the door on the outside, and then put the dining room table, some chairs and the heavy leather couch up against it on the inside.
When I got home from work tonight, the barbecue has been moved, the sliding security door was open, and I think that the sliding glass door has been locked from the outside as now I can't open it from the inside.
I think I am going to have to get the locks changed.

Oh dear, that would definitely freak me out too. I think the change of locks is the best thing really, imagine you come home and someone is there? :-(
Marg that's awful! If the glass door track is inside, try put the broom handle in the track to prevent the door from opening. At least that might prevent them from getting until the locks are changed.
I'd definitely get the locks changed!
That is SCARY. Get 'em changed, definitely. Anytime you lose a house key that is your best option, just change the locks. It will cost a little now that could save you lots later!

Call a lock smith and get a stick that fits between your closed door and the wall along the trap. Keeps the door from opening more than a little. Had this on my sliding door in college which was in my room.
Very scary. Definitely get those locks changed, and maybe the rest of the locks in your house too, just in case. Keep safe!
Ooooooo thats scary, just came on to check if someone posted to put a broom handle, and thankfully someone has. Or something out of metal if you have it.

Okay, please let us know when you've changed the locks. This scares me! I'm sending you all my stay safe thoughts in the bookmark letter I'm mailing to you today!
OMG, that is scary! I hope you've gotten a hold of a locksmith and it's easy enough to change the locks. I just can't imagine! Good luck and please keep us posted!
Marg, do not pass go, do not stop to collect $200, do not blog, get the locks changes now, as in yesterday! Then come back and tell us that you did it. Then resume life as normal.
OH MY! That's scary! When I was a kid my mom always put a broken broom handle in the slot behind one of the doors in the floor of the sliding glass doors. Does that make sense? It's the only way I think to describe it. I thought she was being overly cautious but now I think she was smart after reading your post. Maybe you could try this. of course, you still need to get the locks changed!!!

That is really scary. Remember that you contact the right locksmith company for the service too since there are a lot of rumors that other locksmith companies are taking advantages of their customers.
OMG!! I am way behind in reading all my favorite blogs since I've been traveling and I am just now readng this. Yikes!! I hope that you have had the locks changed by now and nothing bad has happened. I guess I better keep reading and find out! :)
